I am so sorry you have lost her, but I am also grateful for the friend and family member she was to you.Barbers4https://www.blogger.com/profile/02595758405057849997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3082900190335693934.post-9838567330215155602010-10-12T20:23:11.710-06:002010-10-12T20:23:11.710-06:00Thank you for sharing her doggie life with us. It ...Thank you for sharing her doggie life with us. It made me really happy to read how much fun she had while she was alive. Our animals are such an important part of the making of our families. It is heartbreaking to see them go. It...Seeing pictures of Beata just breaks my heart. It hurts so much to know I will never see that little face again, smiling at me, sticking her tongue down Tori's throat, or cuddling up with me in bed.
I met Beata when I was more engaged in animal rescue. A friend who lived around the corner from me called one day and said "You need to come get this dog. She lives across the street, I've watched her owners beat her and abuse her her whole life. But, they left. And they left her behind. Come get her quick before they come back." Of course, I did. And I'm so glad. Despite a horrible begining to her life, B was always so happy to be around people. She was loving, devoted, friendly, and just all around a great dog. I rescued her around the same time I rescued my dogs, Tori and Copper, and they were always pack. Even after B found her home with Lisa, she always came back to us to visit, to play, sleepovers, backing trips, etc. So many people have asked me why I never just kept her, but, really, she was always Lisa's dog. I just got to be another person she loved, and I loved her too. I always will. I regret this all happened so fast, I'll never get over not being able to say goodbye, and I'm so sad that the dogs did not get to spend last moments together. I am glad, however, that she found such a great home. I'm so glad that she was so loved, so well cared for, and truely so stinkin happy. I could not have asked better for a dog that I love as my own. That had a horrible start to life. It's everything she deserved. Oh, and yes, those people did come back, years later. They wanted her back. Of course I lied, played dumb. Said I had her, but had no idea where she was. When Lisa found out. . . well, lets just say it was a good thing she wasn't at my house at the time.
Aside from unconditional love, lots of kisses, and lots of pee to clean out of carpet, Beata also gave me a great friend in Lisa. I am eternally grateful to her for that. Thanks B. You will never be forgotten.Cara Lingstuylnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3082900190335693934.post-87860998437972284312010-10-12T00:54:33.965-06:002010-10-12T00:54:33.965-06:00I am so so sorry for your loss. This is just tragic and my heart goes out to you. What a beautiful eulogy for a beautiful special being.
